Born on July 24, 1897, in Atchison, Kansas, Amelia Earhart was a inspiration to women every where.
She was the first female to ever fly across the vast atlantic ocean.
She was also one of the first women to ever recieve thier pilots licnese.
This was very contributive to the rising view of female rights.
She presumably disappeared on her second journey across the Atlantic but, later research claimed that she crashed on an Atlantic island and lived for weeks with her navigator, Fred Noonan, and died on January 5, 1939.
